The Rio/Pardeeville Trap Team operates under the rules of the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League. www.wiclaytarget.com You may look around on the website to get a feel for the league and how it is organized. Our priorities are safety, fun, and education. Our coaching staff have been trained to ensure proper range etiquette & gun handling procedures are followed while learning the sport of Trap Shooting. Our team is open to any student who has successfully completed hunter safety education and is in grades 7-12. The team is capped at 49 members. Students must also be in full compliance with school academic performance and athletic code rules. Families are responsible for paying any school athletic fees as well. Trap team also has several parent/student agreements which are presented in writing and cover range protocol and team expectations. Both parents and students must sign off on these agreements. Families will need to provide their student with a shotgun, ammo, and eye/ear protection for the season. We may have a gun for you to borrow, but not always. Each season, shooters need 18-22 boxes of ammo (2 cases). You will also need basic gun cleaning supplies. These items will cost approximately $200-$250 although some will be reused for multiple seasons. The state league also has a registration fee and there are clay costs for each season. Extra practice sessions and end of season events will have extra clay/ammo costs. Financial aid is available upon request for needed supplies and registration costs. There is a mandatory meeting for new parents & students before the start of each season-. Date/Time will be given to each school or can be found on the trap clubs Facebook page.
